## Itinerary

### 1. Nairobi - Amboseli National Park by Plane

Your Africa Flash McTours guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning. They will then accompany you to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. There, you will catch a scheduled direct flight to Amboseli National Park. Look out for Mt Kilimanjaro as the aircraft descends before touching down on the airstrip. A vehicle will be standing by to transport you to your appointed lodge and accommodation for the evening. En route, there is every chance that you will spot your first species of wildlife. Once at the camp, you will be shown to your room before enjoying lunch overlooking the wild landscape. After a midday siesta, you will depart on an afternoon game drive. Forming part of a greater ecosystem that straddles the nearby Kenya-Tanzania border, Amboseli National Park covers 392 square kilometres (151 sq. mi). Amboseli has the highest density of African elephants in the country, among them mature bulls with impressively large tusks. Elephants are incredibly intelligent creatures which live in complex social groups. Communicating by rumbles, trumpets and inaudible vibrations, their ability to shape their environment is second only to man. As the sun dips towards the horizon, you’ll return to camp in time for dinner. Then, as you slip into bed, drift off to the sounds of the African night. Accommodation at your camp or lodge Overnight stay in Amboseli National Park Lunch and dinner, not breakfast Drinking water, other drinks are extra

### 2. Amboseli National Park - Nairobi by Plane

We encourage you to wake up early to enjoy the spectacle of an African sunrise. Reinvigorated by a sumptuous breakfast, it is then time to head off on your final Amboseli game drive. In the cool early hours, you may be fortunate to find a pride of lions feasting on their latest kill. If you’re keen on birds, your guide might take you to Enkongo Narok Swamp, home to hundreds of flamingos and a variety of waterfowl. In all, over 350 species of birds have been recorded here. With towering Mount Kilimanjaro forming the quintessential Amboseli backdrop, the landscape is always interesting, with plenty to offer photographers. Iconic images of swimming elephants, browsing giraffes, yawning lions, and fleet-footed antelopes will soon fill both your soul and your memory cards. All too soon, though, it is time to leave Amboseli for your journey back to Nairobi. Once again, you’ll board a direct flight that takes roughly 40 minutes. On arrival, it is time for us to say our farewells. As a proudly Kenyan company, we do hope that our service has exceeded your expectations, and – more importantly – got you thinking about your next visit. Africa Flash McTours serves a wide variety of destinations across East Africa, and we would love to share them with you. No accommodation, this is the final day Breakfast and lunch, no dinner Drinking water, other drinks are extra

## FAQ’s:

### How long is the flight from Nairobi to Amboseli?

Flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Amboseli typically take between 40 and 50 minutes. Flying is by far the quickest way to reach the park.

### Which airstrip do we fly into in Amboseli?

Most scheduled safari flights arrive at Amboseli Airstrip, which is conveniently located within the national park. Depending on your chosen lodge, a representative will meet you upon arrival and transfer you directly to your accommodation or begin your first game drive.

### Is 2 days enough for an Amboseli safari?

Yes. A 2-day fly-in safari provides enough time to experience Amboseli’s highlights, including its famous elephant herds, open plains, seasonal wetlands, and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Flying allows you to spend more time exploring the park and less time traveling.

### When is the best time of year for an Amboseli fly-in safari?

Amboseli is a year-round safari destination, but the dry seasons from June to October and January to February generally bring the best wildlife viewing. During these months, animals gather around water sources, vegetation is less dense, and Kilimanjaro is often more visible.

### Can I see Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli?

Yes. Amboseli is renowned for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. The best views are usually early in the morning or late in the afternoon before cloud cover develops around the summit. While visibility can never be guaranteed, seeing elephants against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro is one of Kenya’s most iconic safari experiences.

### What's the luggage allowance on the small plane?

Most safari flights allow a maximum baggage allowance of 15kg (33lbs) per person, including hand luggage. Soft-sided bags are required, as they are easier to load into the aircraft’s luggage compartment than hard-shell suitcases.

### Can children join this safari?

Yes. Amboseli is a fantastic destination for families, and the short flight from Nairobi makes it particularly appealing for those traveling with children. Many lodges offer family-friendly accommodation and activities suitable for younger guests.

### Are there rhinos in Amboseli?

No. Amboseli National Park is not known for rhino populations, and rhino sightings are not part of the safari experience here. The park is instead famous for its elephants, along with lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, and abundant birdlife. Travelers specifically interested in seeing rhinos may wish to combine Amboseli with destinations such as Ol Pejeta Conservancy or Lake Nakuru National Park.

### Can I combine Amboseli with the Masai Mara or the coast?

Absolutely. Amboseli combines exceptionally well with both the Masai Mara and Kenya’s coastline. Many travelers pair Amboseli with the Mara to experience two very different safari landscapes, while others combine a safari with a beach stay in Mombasa, Diani Beach, Watamu, or Malindi for a classic bush-and-beach vacation.
