## Itinerary

### 1. Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park

Your Ugandan safari adventure will depart at 07:00 am, at which time your private safari guide will collect you from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Kampala. You’ll head north through the countryside, passing through towns and village along the way. During the journey you’ll move through the Luwero triangle, an area made infamous during the civil strife in the 70s and 80s. Your guide will be able to share with you the story of this troubled era in Ugandan history that is now consigned to the history books. For a different aspect of Uganda’s past, you will stop for lunch at the Masindi Hotel. Built in the 1920s as part of the infrastructure that took raw materials from the heart of Africa and out into the world, this hotel has wonderful architecture and tales to tell. Learn about the stories of this magnificent site during your meal at its Kabalega Restaurant, famed for its local and Indian inspired dishes. With the human side of Uganda explored, it’s time to move into the natural aspect of your tour. Upon entering Murchison Falls National Park you will immediately embark on a game drive and head to the waterfall that gives the park its name. Here, you will see the might of the Nile forced through a gap in rocks just seven metres wide and fall forty-three metres down to continue its path through the continent. You’ll take a ferry across the river and head to the camp or lodge that you’ve chosen for your stay here. This is where you’ll have dinner, plus time to relax before your active and adventurous day the next day. The first day of the safari in Africa includes: Accommodation at your camp or lodge Overnight stay inside Murchison Falls National Park Lunch and dinner, no breakfast Drinking water, other drinks are extra

### 2. Full Day Inside Murchison Falls National Park

Take a hearty breakfast in the morning to ready yourself for an active day ranging through forests and across waters. The morning will see you going chimpanzee tracking in the Kaniyo Pabidi Forest. Some of the oldest mahogany trees in the world stand solid offering homes to our animal cousins. Chances to see the chimps are best between October and January, but there are opportunities to see them all year round with long enough expeditions into the forests. Bird species abound in this barely touched junglescape, with hornbills, puvel’s illadopsis, and chocolate-backed kingfishers among the many you can see. After a long and rewarding trek, you’ll return to your camp or lodge for lunch and time to rest before heading back out into the wilderness. You’ll take a boat out on to the River Nile where you can see some of the thousands of hippos that live here, as well as other animals that drink from the banks whilst trying to avoid the crocodiles. Plenty of other animals range through the plains of this national park, such as: Giraffes Waterbucks Lions Elephants Warthogs Buffalo Which you will have chance to spot on your journey through the area. After a long and active day out on safari, you’ll return to your selected camp or lodge for dinner and time to rest and reflect. Depending on where you choose to stay, there may also be optional spa facilities available to take advantage of. Your full day on safari in Uganda includes: Accommodation at your camp or lodge Overnight stay inside Murchison Falls National Park Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Drinking water, other drinks are extra

### 3. Murchison Falls National Park – Entebbe

Breakfast will start the day at your camp or lodge, with dining rooms offering views out across the grasslands and forests. You’ll depart from your accommodation and take a game drive through the parklands to make your way homewards. Another river crossing is in order, giving you a final chance to see some of the aquatic and amphibious animals that make this their home. In the cool morning air, animals will be drinking from the waters’ edge before the fatigue of the sun-drenched afternoon arrives. Once over the river and out of the park it’s back out into the countryside of Uganda. The farms are traditional, as are some of the houses in the villages, yet the life here is still familiar; children go to school, crops are tended to, meals are prepared. The day will rush past your safari vehicle window. Lunch comes as a picnic, with a stop to eat in a scenic area that will also offer photographic opportunities. Arrival in Kampala is scheduled for the early evening. You can discuss your final location with your driver. Whether you need to be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or at the airport, we will be able to take you to your final destination depending on your onward plans. This final day of your Ugandan safari includes: No accommodation, this is the final day Breakfast and lunch, no dinner Drinking water, other drinks are extra
