## Itinerary

### 1. Arusha – Tarangire National Park

We shall pick you up from your Arusha hotel or Kilimanjaro/Arusha airport and drive for approximately 3 hours to Tarangire National Park. You will have a full day game drive in this park and you will have your hot lunch served inside the park, later you will drive to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight It’s the national park which herds of up to 300 elephants scrape the waterless river bed for alternative streams, while nomadic wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland mass the decrease lagoons. It’s the most attentiveness of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly practical. ### 2. Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, it’s time to leave Tarangire National Park and move on to the world-famous Serengeti. You’ll wind your way through the countryside or Tanzania and pass over the higher ground near Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll be returning to later. You’ll drive through the heart of the park as you journey through to the camp or lodge that you have chosen for your stay in the Serengeti. Once you arrive at your accommodation, lunch will be served and you’ll be whisked away, back into the park for a full game drive. The Serengeti is vast and diverse, with the big five of African safari, as well as: Zebras Giraffes Gazelles Baboons Wildebeest And so many more that you must see to believe. If you’re lucky enough to take your safari in Tanzania during the great migration, the guide will be able to help you witness it; one of the biggest movements of animals in the world. As the sun dips behind the horizon on this packed day of discovery, you will return to the calm and comfort of your camp or lodge. ### 3. Full Day in Serengeti National Park

For an alternative way to view this part of the world, rise early and take a hot air balloon out over the park at the break of day. As the sun rises and spills light over the land you can watch the patterns of movement over the plains and listen to the magical dawn chorus as the grasslands awake for a fresh day. Once back on solid ground, you are treated to a champagne breakfast with views over the scenic landscape. For this optional activity there is an additional cost of $500 per person. Whether you choose to take the balloon trip or stay on solid ground in a traditional game drive, you will have lunch, picnic style, in the middle of the park. This will give you as much time as possible within nature, able to appreciate the serenity and beauty of the Serengeti. Once you’ve had your fill, it’s off on another game drive for the afternoon. At this point you are invited to a village of the Masai people, a nomadic tribe that has herded their livestock over these lands for thousands of years. You’ll be greeted with a traditional song and dance and then given time to explore the village and learn of their culture. The entrance fee for this optional activity is $30 per person. After a day packed with adventure and discoveries, you’ll return back to your camp or lodge in the early evening. ### 4. Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start the day with breakfast at your camp or lodge and then embark on a game drive as you progress towards Ngorongoro Crater. On the way, you have the chance to visit Olduvai Gorge and the museum dedicated to the work of Dr David Leakey. This area is the cradle of humanity, where some of the oldest human bons have been found, along with the first evidence of humans using tools to shape the world around them. To be able to learn about this intriguing history, there is an additional entrance fee of $45. Once you’ve learned your human history, it’s nearly time to return to nature, with a quick lunch at your accommodation on the rim of the crater. Once you’ve eaten, it’s time to drop down the 600m incline into possibly the most stunning natural theatre that there is on Earth. The crater walls provide protection to such animals as: Zebras Elephants Lions Giraffe Wildebeest And many more. Your guide will be able to explain the fascinating geological history that made the crater many millennia ago. After a day of discovery of both natural and human history, it’s time for dinner and downtime. ### 5. Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Arusha

Your final day on safari in Tanzania begins with breakfast. From there, your driver will take you on the journey through the parks and countryside of north west Tanzania. You will drive through the park to exit, so will have chance to bid your final farewells to the landscape you have spent so much time with. As you head to Arusha, take in the life of the ordinary people of this fascinating country. You’ll pass through towns and villages of people going about their day, offering you a glimpse into their lives that aren’t so far from your own. Upon arrival in Arusha you will be taken for a goodbye lunch by your driver before they drop you off at your hotel, residence, or even the local airport, depending on your travel plans.
