With so much to explore in Kenya, a safari covering highlands, lakes, and the iconic Masai Mara is a way to cover as much wonder as possible. This safari will take through the Great African Rift Valley, the birthplace of humanity and the ever-evolving landscape that draws so many animals to live here.
Up in the foothills of Mount Kenya, you can explore three parks during your visit: Samburu, Shaba, and Buffalo Springs. Each offer different wildlife, rock formations, and landscapes all ready for you to explore with your expert Kenyan safari guide. Lake Nakuru will offer you plenty of bird species as well as a unique safari experience, before you head to the Masai Mara; famed for its biodiversity.

Day 1 Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve (320 km – 5 to 6 hours)
On safari, you need to start the day early to make sure that you get the most from your time in Kenya. Therefore, we will collect you at 7.30am from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi and set off north towards the Central Kenyan Highlands. Your journey will show you farmlands and normal life in the country, with Mount Kenya creeping into view along the way.
You will be taken direct to your chosen accommodation with the national reserve and served lunch. Take time to relax and settle in, explore the place you’re staying and drink in the views that are afforded from every window.
Late afternoon you will head out in your specially adapted safari vehicle, ready to find the animals of the plains. As the sun beings to sink towards the horizon, animals begin to get playful, predators make their play for their prey, and grazers laze about in the cooling air; is there a better first experience of Kenyan safari? After your thrilling introduction to safari you will return to your camp or lodge for dinner and rest. The first day of your African safari includes:
Day 2 Full Day in Samburu, Shaba, Buffallo Springs National Reserve
With three national reserves all cluster together, you have plenty of opportunity to find the animals you have travelled so far to see. Once you’ve eaten breakfast, you will head out on a morning game drive that can cover more than one of the reserves.
Samburu is intersected by the Ewaso Ng’iro river and has forested areas, as well as swamps and scrublands. The different ecosystems that the park presents means that you can see not only the big five of African safari, but other creatures such as:
For lunch, you will return to your camp or lodge and there you will have the early afternoon at your leisure. For a small additional fee, you can take spa treatments at your accommodation, or spend hours sitting on the terraces and watching the day go by. Late afternoon will see you back out into the plains once again, with another sunrise to round off this first full day on safari.
The second day of your Kenyan safari adventure includes:
Day 3 Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park (250km – 4 to 5 hours)
Now it’s time to continue on your journey and leave Samburu behind after breakfast, including a short game drive as you exit from the park. Lake Nakuru is one of the bodies of water of the Great African Rift Valley, which you will drive through as you make your way to your next destination.
For lunch, you will stop at Nyahururu – an old and bustling town, where you will have lunch before heading to Lake Nakuru. Once you’ve dropped off your bags at your camp or lodge, it’s time to head out into this new terrain. There are over four hundred bird species that can be spotted lakeside, among which are the million or more bright pink flamingos that live on the lake.
As the sun sets over the lake, you will return to your accommodation for dinner. After a long day of travelling and learning about new habitats and animals, you can rest up and appreciate the nature that surrounds your camp or lodge. The third day of your Kenyan safari includes:
Day 4 Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve (300 km – 5 to 6 hours)
Making your way out of the national reserve after breakfast gives you chance to enjoy one last game drive through the area. It’s time to move southwards to the drier, flatter lands that form the area that is host to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Before reaching this most famed of destinations, you will get a chance to pay a quick visit to one of the other major lakes of the Great African Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha.
Once south and into the lands of the Masai Mara, you will make your way to your selected camp or lodge for lunch. After eating, it’s time to head out into the famed Masai Mara, where you will be treated to such delights as

Take your evening to drink in the sights of the afternoon, look through the magnificent photo’s you’ve taken, and contemplate what beauty may lie ahead for another day. After dinner at your camp or lodge your evening is your own. Day four of this Kenyan safari experience includes:
Day 5 Masai Mara Full Day Game
Playing host to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, the Masai Mara is a truly magical place. After breakfast you get to spend a full in exploration of this iconic landscape, will endless plains pocked by acacia trees that are home to big cats. Along with the predators, there are myriad grazing beasts, grouped together and keeping the grasses low.
Along with the mammals and birds of the savanna, humans have lived here since time immemorial and the current inhabitants are the famous Masai people. You are invited to visit one of their villages to be able to better understand their culture and their relationship with the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by a traditional dance and singing, followed by the chance to look around the village, gain insight into their way of life, and enter one of the homes of the tribe.
Finish your day in the park, paying a fond farewell to the scenery, the animals, the feeling or exhilaration that you’ve come to understand so well. You return to your selected accommodation for dinner and chance to prepare for the next day’s departure.
Day five of your safari in Africa includes:
Day 6 Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi (265 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
Your final day out in the wild savannas of Kenya starts with breakfast and a final game drive through the park as you head north, bound for Nairobi. With luck, you may catch final sightings of your favourite creatures as you depart out of the reserve and through the towns and villages of Kenya.
After stopping for lunch along the journey, you will be back in the capital of Kenya in the afternoon. You can request that we drop you off at your hotel, residence, or at the international airport, depending on your plans for your onward journey. The final day of your African safari includes:
