Along with the corals, tropical fish, and sea birds, chances are high that you will witness dolphins playing in the waters around this jutting coral island. The East African slave trade was once associated with the area and there are locations that your guide will be able to point out with troubled stories behind them. Another part of the trading history of this island are the boats you will travel in – dhows which are boats that were originally designed in Arab parts of the world. This tour starts from Shomini jetty after being collected from your hotel or resort in Mombasa or Diani. Your boat will have no more than six guests on board, along with your expert Kenyan tour guide who will be able to help you understand both the nature and the history of the often-overlooked part of Kenya. We use locally owned boats and visit a locally owned restaurant during the tour."
