When choosing to do a safari by air, you are giving yourself the luxury of extra time within the parks and being surrounded by the wonderful landscapes of Kenya. The perspective of viewing the country by air also allows you to get a different understanding of the territory and see herds of animals as you may never have experienced them before.

The name Masai Mara evokes images of rugged African landscape and masses of animals ranging across grasslands. Your time here will be spent among nature with the chance to experience the unique culture of the Masai people with an option visit.
Your tour is a private booking, meaning that your guide will be working with you and your party only, and your vehicle will be used only by your party. It’s possible to take this itinerary in reverse and include extra days at either park, attracting additional costs that you can contact us to discuss.
When taking domestic flights between parks, it is important that you only carry soft sided bags rather than hard-cased suitcases. There is a strict limit of 15kg, or 33lbs, combined for each passenger’s luggage, including hand luggage. Excess baggage will be charged by the airline directly at check in. Please also ensure that you are carrying your passport, or other official identification.

Your luxury safari will begin with pick up from your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where we will then take you to Wilson Airport to catch a scheduled domestic flight to Nanyuki. You will head north, with the chance to see Mount Kenya as you descend towards your destination.
From the airstrip, your waiting vehicle will take you directly to your chosen accommodation, which will include a short ride through the park to give you chance to make your first wildlife sightings. Following lunch, you will be taken out into the park for your first proper game drive with your expert Kenyan safari guide who will help you spot and identify the savanna’s inhabitants.
Included in this afternoon is a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which was opening by the world-renowned naturalist, Jane Goodall. Here, chimps that have been rescued from dangerous and harmful situations are rehabilitated and given sanctuary to live a gentle life.
Returning to camp as the sun sets over the grasslands, you will have dinner served before an evening of relaxation in your luxurious surroundings. Included in the first day of your luxury safari is:

These spacious tents combine the traditional ambiance of a safari camp with the comforts of home. They offer either a king bed or two twin beds and views of the water hole; amenities include a bathroom with a one-hand washbasin, a WC and a shower with a shower curtain.
This Camp boasts six double ensuite guest tents and two family suites, ensuring a maximum occupancy of 20 guests, guaranteeing unparalleled privacy. Each tent offers a panoramic view of the tranquil Ngobit River, complemented by private decks and the luxury of both indoor and outdoor showers within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
For your first full day on safari in Kenya, you will explore Ol Pejeta during two extensive game drives through the park. After you have been served breakfast you will set out into the wilds of this former cattle ranch and aim to spot some of the vast array of animals that inhabit this park.
Lunch will see you return to your luxury accommodation before another journey out into the wilderness, with chances of spotting such luminaries of African safari as:

Your second morning in Ol Pejeta will begin with breakfast, followed by a short game drive on the way to Nanyuki Airstrip. Here, you will board your scheduled flight to Masai Mara heading southwest. Flying over the vast grasslands of Kenya will give you chance to see some of the stunning landscape from a fresh perspective without compromising on your time on the ground.
From the airstrip, you will be collected and transferred to your chosen accommodation with the Masai Mara National Reserve and will arrive in perfect time to be served lunch. Take some time in the afternoon to familiarise yourself with the surrounding – whether you experience the hotel pool, take some spa treatments as optional extras, or choose to spend time resting in your room.
Head out in the late afternoon for your first extensive game drive through the Masai Mara. It will be everything you imagined and more, with the wildlife living in their natural surroundings and protected from the worse excesses of man. The chance to see the sunset over the plains will illuminate the sky and give you some stunning photographs to peruse over dinner back at your accommodation.

Your afternoon offers a special, optional experience of visiting a village belonging to the Masai people. Their relationship with the land is almost symbiotic; they have learned to live side by side and, indeed, thrive next to the wild animals who they share the landscape with. The visit will start with a traditional greeting in song and dance, followed by a tour around the village and opportunity to visit one of the homes. Since this is an optional extra, there is an additional fee of $20 for this visit.
Following your long and eventful day inside the Masai Mara, you will return to your luxurious accommodation to be served dinner and take a well-deserved rest. The fourth day of your luxury safari includes:

Rise early on your last day on safari in Kenya for an early morning game drive. This ethereal time of day sees the change of pace across the plains, as the nocturnal animals go to rest and the great beasts of the savanna stir into life. The dawn sunlight spilling over the grasses offer great moments for photography, too.
Following your dawn in the wilds, you will return to your accommodation for lunch and be taken back to the airstrip to take your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Upon your arrival back into the capital of Kenya, you will be able to request a transfer to the international airport, or your booked hotel or residence, depending on your onwards plans.
