The Best Time of the Year to go on an African Safari depends largely on the reason for your visit. For instance, to view the Great Wildebeest Migration in Kenya or Tanzania, you should visit from July to October during the Dry Season. However, if you want to see Wild Gorillas in either Rwanda or Uganda, it is best to visit from June to September or December to February.

In the past, most people arriving in Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda on African safari holidays were able to obtain a visa upon arrival. That is no longer the case. All 3 countries have done away with their VOAs and now require visitors to apply for a visa through their respective online systems. Kenya’s can be found here, Uganda’s here, and Tanzania’s here.
