100 years ago the Lake Manyara region was the domain of sport hunters. After World War II that began to change and in 1957 a reserve was created here to protect local wildlife instead of hunting it down. That reserve became Lake Manyara National Park in 1960 and today it is one of the jewels of Tanzania.
On our Lake Manyara Safari Tours, you will explore this untamed landscape and mingle with its inhabitants including elephants, gazelles, impala, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, lions, leopards, hyenas and many more.
Lake Manyara lies just to the east of the rocky escarpment of the Rift Valley. Although the lake is very shallow it plays an essential role in sustaining the abundant wildlife. Our Lake Manyara Safari Tours include:
Wilds of Kenya and Tanzania Safari – This 9-day safari does a complete circuit of some of the most compelling national parks in both Kenya and Tanzania including the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Parks. An unforgettable journey.
