Days on safari start early, so begin the routine on your first day with a bright and early start to depart from Nairobi. We will collect you from your hotel, residence, or the international airport and make the northbound journey to Ol Pejeta.
Your travels will take you past Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa, and up on to the Laikipia Plateau. Ol Pejeta was once a cattle ranch and has since been converted into an important, privately-run wildlife conservation area. Here you can find the big five of Africa safari:

The afternoon will take you on the short drive to Aberdare National Park where a short game drive will see you on your way to your camp or lodge. You are invited to visit the Ark at Treetops Lodge, no matter where you have booked to stay. Here, the platforms are built around a popular watering hole, so you can see a vast array of African wildlife drinking, playing, and even hunting their prey.
The Ark offers a wonderful evening experience, so you can head over after dinner to see the location floodlit. The Great African Rift Valley is believed to be home to humanity itself, and it’s still a dynamic and evolving landscape to this day. Following breakfast at your camp or lodge, you will head deep into the valley that is a fissure in the African landscape and filled with volcanic lakes and rock formations.
The destination in Lake Nakuru National Park, with more than one third of its area taken up by the lake that gives the area its name. Arriving in time for lunch at your accommodation, you will then be taken on an afternoon game drive where you can see a vast array of birds and animals. There are more than 400 species of birds recorded as living, nesting, or migrating through here – including the greater and lesser flamingos who light up the waters’ surface with their pink tones that dance across the lake.
