Samburu National Park offers you the chance to see some of the most stunning animals and landscapes of Africa. With forests, grasslands, and desert scenery, the animals that make their home here are abundant and spectacular.
The three most famous big cats of African safari;
Live within the bounds of the park, along with reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, elephants, buffalo, and hippos. There are over 350 bird species on display in the park, giving a perfect chance to spot starlings, hornbills, vultures, and many more.

Starting with an early pick up from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi, we will embark on the journey to Samburu National Reserve through the Central Highlands of Kenya. The countryside you will pass through is filled with beauty; scenes of local life passing by along with hills and plains.
Upon arrival at your accommodation, you will be served lunch and have the opportunity to settle in and relax. The afternoon is filled with your first game drive through the park which will take in the three parks of Samburu, Shaba, and Buffalo Springs.
When you return to your camp or lodge, you will have dinner and ready for the full day of African safari that waits the next day. Included in the first day of your safari is:

Located inside the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya, Samburu Sopa lodge is built atop high ground allowing panaromic views of the vastness of Samburu shrub land and the hills beyond.

Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is located in a natural oasis in the heart of the Shaba Game Reserve or “Born Free Country” that Joy and George Adamson called home for many years.

Set in a rugged landscape with a backdrop of jagged mountains, Samburu National Reserve is host to indigenous animals unique to the region. Explore the reserve from the luxurious, five star Larsens Camp, named after the famous adventurer Eric Larsen.
The day starts with breakfast, followed by a game drive through the national reserve. Your expert Kenyan safari guide will be on hand to help your find and identify the stunning array of animals that live in the park. Along with lions, buffalo, and giraffes, you can also expect to see baboons, warthogs, oryx, hippos and the many more creatures you may only have marvelled at through a screen before.
You’ll return to your accommodation for lunch and time to rest and relax in the afternoon. Sunset over the savanna is a sight the behold, and you’ll leave your lodge or camp in time to watch the sun dip below the horizon of the park. The move from daytime to evening sees the character of the plains and forests change, with nocturnal and scavenging animals coming to life under cover of darkness.
Greeted by dinner, your return to your accommodation will be in the early evening. The second day of your African safari includes:

Early morning on the savanna is a time filled with the daw chorus, with the transition between night time activity and the slower pace of daylight life. Wake up early this morning so see the change for yourself on an early morning game drive before returning to your accommodation for breakfast.
You’re welcome to take some time at your camp or lodge for relaxing before the journey ahead. After lunch, we will depart to Nairobi and once again pass through the stunning highlands landscape of Kenya. Upon arrival you can request a hotel, residence, or airport drop-off depending on your onward plans.
