Hidden within the ancient Kakamega Rainforest, Rondo Retreat Centre is an experience unlike anywhere else in Kenya. Rather than vast savannas and open plains, this is a landscape of towering indigenous trees, winding forest paths, and a remarkable diversity of birds, butterflies, and primates. Originally established as a private residence in the 1940s, the retreat has evolved into a peaceful sanctuary where nature, conservation, and quiet reflection take precedence.

The retreat retains the character of a welcoming country estate, with charming cottages nestled among beautifully maintained gardens. Communal lounges, home-style dining, and peaceful gardens encourage you to relax, whether enjoying afternoon tea beneath the canopy or listening to the distinctive calls of great blue turacos and black-and-white colobus monkeys from the veranda.
