Kenya Kenya

Kenya isn’t just about safari. There is a stunning coastline, with white sand beaches drenched in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, ready for you to explore too. With this tour, you get the best of both aspects of this wonderful country.

Your trip will begin exploring possibly the most iconic national reserve in all of Africa, the Masai Mara. The grasslands are home to some of the highest concentrations of wild animals on the continent and play host to the big five of African safari:

  • Rhinos
  • Elephants
  • Buffalo
  • Lions
  • Leopards

And plenty more besides. Time at Lake Nakuru will also give you chance to spot some of the most exquisite bird species, and a visit to Samburu shows you a different landscape of Kenya.

Once you’ve spent time marvelling at the wild animals of Kenya, we will take you to the coast for relaxation time on the beach. Leave behind the early starts and active days of safari life and do your own thing with no pre-planned itinerary.

This is a personal tour, booked only for you and your party and your guide and vehicle are dedicated only to you and your needs. Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

A briefing from your guide starts your safari as we pick you up in Nairobi early in the morning. Your journey weaves its way through the Great African Rift Valley, an ancient landscape that is still in a state of flux; a place teeming with life and natural history. Stops are made for photo opportunities across the Suswa Ranges and Mount Longonot.

Lunch is served in Narok town, a hearty plate of local Kenyan food, followed by your arrival at your accommodation inside the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Drop your bags, take a moment to settle, then head out on your first game drive across the Serengeti plains.

The first wildlife safari experience will offer chances to see the animals you’ve dreamed about:

  • Lions
  • Elephants
  • Buffalo
  • Leopards
  • Rhino

Many more animals await your discovery as you embark on your African safari proper. You’ll take dinner at your accommodation, readying for the adventures ahead.

The first day of your Kenyan safari includes:

  • Accommodation at your tented camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Masai Mara Game Reserve
  • Lunch and dinner, no breakfast
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 2 Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

The Masai Mara evokes strong images of animals hunting, mass migrations of herds if herbivores, and acacia trees pocking the grasslands with spots of shade. These images will come to vivid life as you embark on a full day inside the park after breakfast at your accommodation.

Your day will be spent alongside your professional Kenyan safari guide, who will help you track, spot, and identify to awe-inspiring animals you’ve travelled so far to see. You will spend the day adventuring through the savanna, and if you’re lucky enough to visit between July and October you may just be able to witness the mass migration of the zebras and wildebeest of the Masai Mara.

Your lunch will be served picnic style so that you can spend the full day surrounded by nature and have chance to explore deep into the lands. After sunset in the park you will return to your camp or lodge for dinner and time to relax before your next day on safari in Africa.

The second day of your Kenyan safari includes:

  • Accommodation at your camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 3 Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

No two days are the same out on the plains of Kenya. Your second day adventuring through the Masai Mara will show you more animals, deeper biodiversity, and a broader understanding of what living on these lands means to its inhabitants.

You’ll set out into the park after breakfast at your camp or lodge and take different tracks through the area, with the aim of seeing different animals and landscapes. Picnic lunch will be served on the bank of the Mara river, so that you can maximise your time out in the wilds.

The afternoon presents a special, optional chance to visit a village of the Masai people. You will be welcomed with a traditional song and dance and allowed to walk through their village and visit a home. The Masai people have lived their nomadic life across these lands for thousands of years and they invite you to explore their culture. As an additional activity, there is an extra cost of $25 per person for this visit.

Evening sees you return to your accommodation for dinner and chance to pack your bags ready for the morning’s departure. Day three of your African safari includes:

Upon arrival at Samburu, you will head to your accommodation and have time for lunch and relaxation before your inaugural game drive in this particular park.
