The lakes of Kenya hold millennia of history, along with stunning mammals, aquatic life, and nearly 500 species of birds. This safari will take you some of most important waters of East Africa, overnighting in close proximity to shore of Lake Baringo.

Explore the volcanic lands in your safari vehicle as well as hitting the water to bring you even closer to the wildlife. The lakes are a dream for bird spotters, with flocks of flamingos as well as multitude other species for you to tick off your lists.

The two lakes of the Great African Rift Valley that you will visit are:

  • Lake Baringo
  • Lake Bogoria

All of which have their own unique qualities. Your expert Kenyan safari guide will be able impart their knowledge of the geological and natural history of the region, as well as help you to identify the animals that you spot along the way.

When you book with us, your tour is private and will not be joined by anyone else. Your guide and vehicle are dedicated to your African safari needs; whichever animals may be on your bucket list you can be sure we’ll do our best to take you to it.

Nairobi – Lake Baringo

(275 km – 4 to 5 hours)

Your day will start in Nairobi, where we will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or the airport and head north through Kenya. On the journey you will make a stop at Lake Nakuru, home to rhinos, giraffes, and zebras, as well as tens of thousands of flamingos.

As you make your way through the Great African Rift Valley there will be stops to be able to take photographs. We know this landscape well, and your guide will be able to direct you to the most scenic viewpoints on the journey. Upon arrival at Lake Baringo, you will be served lunch at your accommodation and have time to rest after your drive.

The afternoon takes you on a boat trip across the 130 square kilometre body of water. Some of the avian species you make be lucky enough to encounter include:

  • Flycatchers
  • African fish eagles
  • Marabou storks

Lake Baringo – Lake Bogoria – Nairobi

(275 km – 4 to 5 hours)

Start the morning with breakfast, before departing back down the ancient lands and heading towards Lake Bogoria National Park. Flocks of fuchsia-hued flamingos inhabit the water, feeding on the algae that give them their wonderful colour. The salty lake is home to less mammals than you might see elsewhere, yet the craggy terrain and the hot springs still offer plenty to be in awe at.

As you make your way through the terrain of northern Kenya, you will once again be able to stop in the area of Lake Nakuru. Here, you will be served a traditional Kenyan lunch, surrounded by the wonderful nature of this stunning country.

You’ll arrive back in Nairobi in the late afternoon, where you can request that we drop you off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, depending on your onwards plans. The last day of your African safari experience includes:

  • No accommodation, this is the final day
  • Breakfast and lunch, no dinner
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra
