Day 1 Arusha – Serengeti National Park (415 kms, 5 to 6 hours)
At 07:00 am, you will be picked up from your hotel/residence in Arusha and driven to the great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq miles). Picnic lunch will be served in the park, followed by game drives.
Serengeti National Park is home to lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, African buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, eland, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles and more. There are many species of birds, including the Eurasian migrants.
Day 2 Full Day inside Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart on an all-day game drive in the Serengeti National Park, with a packed picnic lunch. The term Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Masai language. On the central plains there are carnivores such as leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Masai Mara and the Serengeti. Various bird species can be seen here, including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen, including the “Big 5” – elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo. Other common species found here include hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope, baboons, monkeys and a profusion of over 500 species of birds. In May or early June each year, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their spectacular migration northwards. In their wake follow the predators, lion, cheetah and wild dogs, while vultures circle overhead.
Day 3 Serengeti National Park – Arusha (415 kms, 5 to 6 hours)
Wake up call at 06:00 am. After a cup of tea or coffee, we will set off on the magical early-morning game drive, on which you will be able to witness the dawn kills of the wild cats. After the game drive, we will return to the camp/lodge at 09:30 am for a full breakfast.
Thereafter, check out from the camp/lodge and depart for Arusha, with a game drive en route. Arrive in Arusha late afternoon, with a drop-off at the hotel of your choice or return to the airport for your flight.
