Day 1 JRO Airport – Transfer to Hotel (50km – 45 minutes)
Arriving in Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by our Safari Driver and drive to Mount Meru Hotel where you booked for the night bed and breakfast.
Day 2 Arusha – Tarangire National Park (120km – 2 hours)
Breakfast at 0730am. Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at 0830am and drive on tarmac road 120km to Tarangire National Park (2,850 sq km or 1,005 sq mile’s) for game drives. Lunch picnic there after lunch continue with afternoon game viewing in the park, a home to Lion, Leopard, Elephant, buffalo, Python, Zebra, Oryx, Impala and more… Over 450 species of birds have been observed. It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. On drier ground you find the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird; the stocking-thigh ostrich, the world’s largest bird; and small parties of ground hornbills blustering like turkeys. More ardent bird-lovers might keep an eye open for screeching flocks of the dazzlingly colorful yellow-collared lovebird, and the somewhat drabber Rufus-tailed weaver and ashy starling – all endemic to the dry savannah. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Twiga campsite.
Day 3 Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (175km – 4 to 5 hour)
Have an early breakfast, then drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 600 meters into the crater for a game drive and a picnic lunch. Ascend the crater floor and drive to your accommodation.
Day 4 Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Manyara - Arusha (190km – 3 to 4 hours)
After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, you head to Lake Manyara. This is one of Tanzania’s smallest national parks, covering an area of 330 km2, 200 km2 of which is lake.
Lake Manyara is a paradise for large herds of elephants, buffaloes and baboons, and with more than 400 bird species registered there. You might also be lucky enough to spot the famous tree-climbing lions here.
After this final Tanzania experience, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to your ownward destination.
