This six days safari combines the superb Lewa Conservancy in Laikipia in northern Kenya with the outstanding Masai Mara National Reserve in the south-west. Offering some of the best game viewing anywhere in Africa it is a great trip for those going on their first safari or for more seasoned safari goers.
Both locations are prime wildlife viewing areas. As soon as you arrive at either camp’s airstrip you are immediately aware of the large mammals. Zebra and giraffe are common. In the Lewa Conservancy you stand a very good chance of sighting both species of rhino, elephant and the elegant gerenuk. Wild dogs are also a possibility. Big cats are plentiful in the Masai Mara, one of the best places in Africa to find leopard, lion and cheetah.
Visit between (roughly) late July and the end of September to witness the Great Migration in the Masai Mara, when hundreds and thousands of migratory wildebeest pour over the plains and criss-cross the Mara River, into Kenya and Tanzania.

After a beautiful morning and breakfast, transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Lewa downs conservancy. Your flight leaves at 1020hrs and arrives at 1120hrs, a one-hour flight. Upon arrival, you will be picked and transfer to Lewa Houses with game viewing en-route to check-in for lunch and rest. In the afternoon; head for an afternoon game drives until sunset.

Nestled within the sprawling Laikipia plains, the charming Lewa Safari Camp is set on the privately-owned Lewa Wildlife Conservancy; home to a splendid array of wildlife, and some of Kenya’s most spectacular scenery.

Do an early morning game drive; return for breakfast. Thereafter proceed for a half-day game drive exploring the conservancy: Lewa Conservancy is home to various wildlife and incorporates the extensive Ngare Ndare forest. The wildlife conservancy is an award-winning model for offering alternative safari activities and preserving the endangered black rhino. Lewa Downs is a sustainable tourism model with excellent success history in the world. The big 5, including elephants, lions, cape buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards, are found here. Lewa holds the largest population of Grevy’s zebras in the world and eastern black rhinoceros. Frequently encountered at night are leopards, bush babies, foxes, aardvarks, and caracals. In the afternoon, have a nature walk and rest as you enjoy the hotel amenities.

After an early morning game drive; return for breakfast at the hotel. Thereafter, transfer to Lewa Airstrip for your scheduled morning flight to Masai Mara; a one hour, 25 minutes. Arrive in good time to be picked by the guide, transfer to the camp with game drive en-route. Check-in for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, head for a game drive until sunset.
