Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli National Park (250 km – 4 to 5 hrs)
At 07:30 am, after breakfast, you will be picked up in Nairobi and depart for Amboseli National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch at your camp/lodge.
After you’ve had time to rest, we’ll take you into the park for your first Kenyan safari experience. On your game viewing drive, we’ll be on the look out for the stars of Amboseli – elephants, lions, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, and a whole load more. The game drive will last until sunset, and then you will return to your camp/lodge for dinner.
Day 2 Full day exploring Amboseli National Park
A full day in Amboseli National Park, which is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. It is situated close to the Kenya-Tanzania border and lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Its snow-capped summit provides a magnificent backdrop to your visit. Some of the largest elephant herds are found in Amboseli National Park, and it is often referred to as “the home of the elephant”.
Day 3 Amboseli – Lake Naivasha (340 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
After an early breakfast, we leave Amboseli Reserve and head to Lake Naivasha, one of the Rift Valley Lakes. After check-in and refreshments at Naivasha Hotel, we explore the fresh-water lake, which is home to over 400 bird species and a large population of hippo. We take a boat ride past the hippos and visit the stunning Crescent Island sanctuary. Here, with our guides, we walk amongst giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and water buck. We then return to the Hotel for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 4 Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara Game Reserve (250 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
After breakfast, we leave Lake Naivasha for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the jewel of Kenya’s game parks. This enormous reserve is part of the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. It is known for its spectacular wildebeest migration and is home to all the big five: lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and Cape buffalo.
Upon arrival, lunch will be served. After lunch, you may catch your breath before the late afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive. This is your chance to spot the wild animals you’ve come to marvel at, and your personal safari guide will help you find the greats of the savanna. In the evening, we’ll relax around the fire before an excellent dinner.
Day 5 Full Day exploring Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, we depart with packed lunches for a full day exploring the park and viewing the Big 5 and other game. An optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 425 per person, or you may wish to visit the Masai Village to learn their culture and way of life. We return to the lodge for dinner.
The Mara offers wildlife in abundance. You will see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, leopard (if you’re lucky!), many kinds of antelopes and elephant. Every year there is the spectacular migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in the north to the southern parts of Masai Mara, in search of water and grazing.
Day 6 Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi (265 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
The day starts with a 06:00 am wake-up call and a cup of coffee or tea. We then enjoy an early-morning game drive and return to the camp for a full breakfast at 09:30 am. Finally, we head back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight.
