Welcome to Rwanda! Our two-day Rwanda gorilla safari is ideal for those with limited time and is perfect as an add-on to your East African safari in a neighbouring country. Gorilla trekking is one of the most popular reasons for people to visit Rwanda. The adventure begins in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, from which you’ll be whisked to your overnight accommodations in preparation for your rainforest rendezvous. Please note that gorilla trekking can be a strenuous activity undertaken in difficult, often wet, terrain. Time permitting, you might also be able to enjoy a few cultural highlights.
For the duration of your Rwandan experience, you’ll be accompanied by an Africa Flash McTours guide, there to ensure a smooth travel experience from arrival to departure. We transport all our guests safely in fully-equipped, custom-built safari vehicles. The tour schedule allows guests ample time for relaxation and a glimpse of the Rwandan way of life. Please note that waterproof hiking boots and rugged clothing are recommended for the gorilla trek.
You have an opportunity to trekk Gorilla here.
Walking Safari gives you the opportunity to move at the pace of nature.

Today, your Africa Flash McTours guide will meet you, either at Kigali International Airport or at your hotel, depending on your travel arrangements. After getting acquainted, we’ll depart after breakfast for Rwanda’s second-largest city, Musanze, on the outskirts of Volcanoes National Park. The journey should take two hours to complete. It is here, in the shadow of five towering Virunga volcanoes, that you will spend the night.
Rwanda has been nicknamed the “Land of a Thousand Hills” and is one of the most fascinating places to visit on the African continent. Rwanda neighbours Uganda to the north, Tanzania to the east, Burundi to the south and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west. Rwanda is home to three main ethnic groups: the Batwa, Hutus and Tutsis. English, French and Kinyarwanda are widely spoken.
After the tragic events of the 1994 genocide, Rwanda has emerged as a model of reconciliation, economic growth, and political stability. The country is safe for tourists and remarkably clean, boasting modern infrastructure, an excellent road network, and a vibrant tourism sector.
Time permitting, once you have checked into your hotel, you have the option of visiting either the Musanze Caves or the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village.

You’ll wake early today, and breakfast will be served at 06h30. We suggest wearing the appropriate rugged clothing, and hiking boots are essential for navigating wet, uneven terrain. Then, you will be transferred to the park headquarters, which is situated just a short distance away.
There, you will meet your guides who will brief you on gorilla trekking protocol. Passionate about gorillas, your guides have received specialised training and boast a profound understanding of the apes and the forest they call home. We recommend making use of the porter service, at US$10 per person/per day per porter
As big as gorillas are, they are not always easy to find. It can take anything from a few minutes to several hours, so you will get to appreciate firsthand the skill of your guide and trackers. Once located, all groups are permitted only one hour with the apes. This ensures that disturbances to their way of life are kept to a minimum.
As gorillas have no natural predators, their greatest threat comes from humans. Their numbers declined drastically due to deforestation, expanding agriculture and conflict with humans. Furthermore, they have been heavily poached and are highly susceptible to human-borne diseases against which they have no natural resistance.
After the trek, we’ll return to your designated drop-off point in Kigali, at which point, we’ll wish you well on your onward travels. After your short visit, we do hope that you’ll have seen enough of Rwanda’s beauty to consider returning. Should that be the case, Africa Flash McTours would be honoured to host you once again.
