Elephants, Hippos, Buffalo, Lion
The area that is now the Queen Elizabeth National Park endured a troubled past during the colonial period but emerged in 1952 as Kazinga National Park. In 1954 it was renamed the Queen Elizabeth National Park after a visit by the British Monarch.
The park is known for its abundant wildlife including elephants, hippos, buffalos, lions, leopards, waterbuck, Nile crocodiles, giant forest hogs and much, much more. Nearby is the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the last refuges of the Great Apes. Our Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari Tours provide an in-depth exploration of both.

Honeymoon Safari
Explore Our African Rainforest Adventure Safari
Without a doubt, this is one of our most compelling safari tours. Over the course of 8 eventful days, you will be guided in safety and comfort from the Ugandan capital of Kampala to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will spend 2 nights in the QENP viewing the ‘big 5’ – elephants, rhinos, buffalo, lions and leopards – as well as scores of other species, including hippos and Nile crocodiles.
From there you will proceed to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will spend a further 3 days and 2 nights hiking into the lush tropical jungle to the home of the rarest of the apes, the highly-endangered mountain gorilla. These encounters are certain to leave a lasting impression, but the adventure doesn’t stop there.
You will then cross the border into neighbouring Rwanda, where you will first visit Volcanoes National Park and later Lake Bunyonyi National Park. Both parks also play host to small communities of the endangered mountain gorilla. At the end of your odyssey, you will be driven comfortably and safely back to Kampala, making multiple stops along the way to drink in the local culture.
