At 07:00 am we shall Commence your journey from Nairobi, traversing the verdant Kikuyu highlands towards the eastern escarpment of the majestic Great African Rift Valley.
At around 07:30 am we shall stop for scheduled stopover, at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, offering a breathtaking panorama of the ancient geological marvel. Witness the splendor of the Rift valley floor from a vantage point, with its rich history dating back 5 million years, stretching from the Red Sea through Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. Marvel at the active volcanic terrain, boasting an array of captivating features, including picturesque lakes, dormant and active volcanoes, and natural geothermal wonders like Olkaria geothermal wells and Lake Bogoria geysers. Capture the awe-inspiring sight of volcanic peaks like Mt. Suswa and Mt. Longonot, adorned with lush greenery against the backdrop of the undulating rift valley floor.
At about 08:30 am we shall arrive at Mount Longonot and Embark on an exhilarating hike within the confines of Mt. Longonot National Park, ascending towards the crater rim. Navigate through the rugged gullies, immersing yourself in the scenic beauty of this geological masterpiece. The trek, suitable for individuals with moderate physical fitness, offers designated resting points along the route. Upon reaching the crater rim, behold the mesmerizing sight of the expansive crater below. For the adventurous souls, circumnavigate the rim for a truly immersive experience.
We shall Descend at around 12:30 pm from the heights of Mt. Longonot, regrouping at the park headquarters before embarking on a scenic drive to the serene shores of Lake Naivasha, where we shall Indulge in a delectable lunch at the Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp’s lakeside restaurant, relishing mouthwatering cuisine amidst the tranquil beauty of the lake and its avian inhabitants.
After lunch we shall proceed on an immersive boat ride across the pristine waters of Lake Naivasha, encountering a myriad of avian species, including the iconic African fish eagle, showcasing its remarkable fishing prowess. Navigate to the hippo pool, witnessing these majestic creatures as they frolic and bask in their aquatic habitat.
Bid farewell to the tranquility of Lake Naivasha at around 04:30 pm as you embark on the return journey to Nairobi, traversing the picturesque landscapes of the Kikuyu highlands. Arrive back in Nairobi at 6:00 pm, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, concluding a day filled with unforgettable adventures amidst the natural wonders of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.
