The dry seasons from June to September and December to February are ideal for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. Trails are firmer, humidity is lower, and tracking conditions are more comfortable, offering consistently rewarding encounters.
Forest walks are most enjoyable during the drier months, when footing is secure and time spent exploring the ecosystem feels unhurried and engaging.
Birding is exceptional from October to April, when migratory species arrive and the forest is alive with color and sound. Kibale is one of Uganda’s most important forest birding destinations.
