Walking Safari

Walking Safari gives you the opportunity to move at the pace of nature.

Aberdares National Park is home to iconic accommodation that allows you stunning views of the animals of the park. Your accommodation will be nestled within the treetops of the park, overlooking a watering hole with salt licks that bring the stunning beasts of the savanna to your balcony.

Here, you can see such animals as

  • Elephant
  • Rhino
  • Lion
  • Leopard

And if you’re lucky, the rare bongo antelope. The viewing decks of the hotel look out over the floodlit plains, meaning you have the opportunity to watch the animals past dusk – a treat many safaris aren’t able to offer.

This adventure makes a perfect addition to other packages. With a start and end in Nairobi, it is compatible with a range of other tours that you can add at either the beginning or end of your Kenyan safari trip.

Aberdares is located in the highlands of Kenya and the climate can get chilly, we recommend you pack warm clothes so that you can spend a long evening spotting wildlife out on the decks. Your safari tour is a private booking, and as such your vehicle and experienced driver will be dedicated only to you and your party.

1  night Aberdares National Park

Nairobi - Aberdares National Park

(170 km – 3 hours)

Departing early from Nairobi, we will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or the airport depending on your needs. Your journey will take you through the coffee and tea plantations of the Kenyan Highlands, showing you a side of Kenya that is less known yet no less beautiful.

Upon arrival at your accommodation at Treetops Lodge, you will be served lunch and immediately given the opportunity to start viewing the animals from the decks. The fresh perspective that your platform above the watering hole gives means you can get a fuller picture of life on the plains.

Your dinner will also be served at Treetops Lodge and you are able to spend time well into the evening watching nature unfold below. The area including the salt licks are floodlit, meaning you can see the nocturnal activity that is little-accessible in most national parks. This night on African safari includes:

  • Overnight in Aberdares National Park
  • Accommodation at The Ark lodge
  • Lunch and dinner included
  • Drinking water is provided. All other drinks are extra.
