Tsavo West is known for its Red Elephants and holds the legend of Tsavo man eaters- two lions accused of killing and eating around 135 men in Kenya in 1898. Sarova Salt Lick is situated in the midst of Taita hills sanctuary a private sanctuary of 28,000 acres bordering Tsavo West National Park. Sarova Salt Lick is built on a high stilts above a waterhole and pastures where animals come to eat and drink water, giving the guest a chance to see them close.

Day 1 Nairobi – Taita hills/Saltlick(400 km – 6 hrs)
We leave Nairobi early in the morning and arrive SarovaTaita hills in time for lunch. We will leave around 6am to arrive in SarovaTaita hills around lunch time.We will then continue our drive to Salt Lick for your accommodation where you can settle in and relax. The total drive will take approximately 6 hrs, 400 km. This will be followed by an evening game drive from 4- 6pm. We will return to the lodge to have an overlooking dinner with a stunning view of a floodlit waterhole, which gives you a close range view of the animals.
Day 2 Taita hills/saltlick
We will have our breakfast at Salt Lick early in the morning before proceeding for another game drive until afternoon. After which, we will make our way to Taita to check-in at Sarova Salt Lick Lodge where you can relax and take a dip in the swimming pool. In the evening, you have the option to join an evening game drive or stay in the lodge to relax.
Tsavo West is a popular safari destination for its magnificent scenery, Mzima Springs, rich and varied wildlife, good road system, and rhino reserve.
Day 3 Taita hills-Nairobi(368 km – 6 hrs)
We start with an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast.
Guests can spend the rest of the morning for leisure such as swimming before we check out at 10am. We then drive back to Nairobi and have a stopover for lunch (client’s own cost)at Mtito. Estimated arrival at Nairobi is at6pm.
