Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve (265 km – 5 to 6 hours)

With an early departure of 7.30am, we will collect you from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi and travel east through the countryside of Kenya, towards the Masai Mara and your African safari dreamscape. As everyday life in this wonderful country passes you by, you can begin to contemplate the wonders that await. You’ll arrive at your chosen camp or lodge in time for lunch, passing through some of the park as you go.

After your brief teaser upon entering the park, you will now spend your afternoon on your first proper game drive though the grasslands of the Masai Mara. Here you will have your first chance to encounter the big five of African safari:

  • Leopards
  • Lions
  • Rhinos
  • Buffalo
  • Elephants

With all them making their homes within the confines of this game reserve.

When you return to your accommodation, you’ll have dinner and time to rest up and ready yourself for a packed day of safari adventure the next morning. In this first day of your Kenyan safari, included is:

  • Accommodation at your camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Lunch and dinner, no breakfast
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 2 Full Day inside Masai Mara National Reserve

The Masai Mara is one of the most diverse and densely populated eco-systems in Africa, and this day will see you spend the whole day out in the park after breakfast. Along with the most famous animals of the continent, the reserve is home to

  • Thompson’s gazelles
  • Hippos
  • Topi
  • Jackals
  • Cheetahs

And plenty more fauna that your guide will be able to help you recognise.

You can choose to break up your day with a return to your camp or lodge for lunch, or you can opt to have a picnic lunch out in the park, depending on how you want to enjoy your day. The afternoon game drive will take you into new areas of the park, with your guide in contact with other groups to ensure that you don’t miss the big moments.

After a long day out in your safari vehicle, it’s time to return to your accommodation for dinner. Most places offer viewing terraces or picture windows so that you can get an appreciation of the nocturnal happenings of the plains. Included in the second night of your Kenyan safari is:

  • Accommodation at your camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 3 Full Day inside Masai Mara National Reserve

If spending so much time in the Masai Mara wasn’t enough excitement, during your safari you have the chance to take a hot air balloon ride over the plains as the sun rises. An early start will see you ascend over the land to get a fresh and stunning perspective. After you return to solid ground you will be treated to a Bubbly Bush Breakfast as the morning light spills over the grasslands. This breath-taking experience has an additional cost of $425 per person.

Your afternoon will include a further game drive out in the park, with chance to visit new places that you want to explore, or return to spend more time in the areas you fell in love with the previous day. You are also invited to visit a Masai village, home to the nomadic tribespeople who have roamed and thrived in these lands for generations. A welcome dance will be followed by a chance to look around the village and even see inside one of their traditional homes. For the visit, each person needs to pay an additional $20.

After your packed day of safari and the option of extra activities, it’s time to return to your camp or lodge for your final evening. You will be given dinner and time to relax and take advantage of any extra facilities offered. Day three of your African safari includes:

  • Accommodation at your camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Masai Mara National Reserve
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 4 Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi (265 km – 5 to 6 hours)

To see the Masai Mara at dawn, with the sun creeping over the horizon and the animals beginning a fresh day on the plains, is a privilege indeed. Arise early for your dawn game drive to see how the Masai awakes and get beautiful photos washed with the morning sun.

After your early morning game drive, you will return to your camp or lodge to collect your belongings and have breakfast. Next, you will head back through the scenes of daily Kenyan life as you make your way back to Nairobi as your journey comes to an end. Lunch will be served on the way, with a stop in Narok town.

Once we return you to the capital of Kenya, you can request that we drop you off at your hotel, residence, or at the airport, depending on what you’ve planned to do next. The final day of your Masai Mara safari includes:
