At Africa FlashMC Tours we put the wellbeing of the people, wildlife and culture of the countries where we operate at the centre of everything we do. Our safari tours are fashioned to not only provide you access to the breathtaking landscapes and unparalleled biodiversity of Central and East Africa, but to educate about the threats to these natural wonders and to build appreciation for conservation efforts.
To that end, we offer a variety of conservation safaris in Africa that enable our guests to play an indirect but very real role in the protection of endangered black and white rhinos and mountain gorillas. Other tours focus on bringing to light the challenges facing Africa’s elephants. While still others focus on the problem of deforestation, as well as the impact it has on the massive migratory herds that populate the region.
We at FlashMC Tours are 100% committed to sustainable eco-tourism and work with an array of eco-rated properties throughout this part of Africa. All of our safari tours are built on a solid foundation of sustainability with a rigorous set of eco-friendly and culturally relevant criteria being applied to every aspect of every tour. If something fails to live up to our admittedly high standards it does not become part of our itinerary. It’s as simple as that.
From a strictly environmental angle, we leave nothing behind. Every piece of refuse generated by our safari tours is collected and either recycled, repurposed or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. In addition, anytime one of our safari or other excursion groups comes into contact with the local population it must provide some direct or indirect benefit to those people and their communities.
Our team members also regularly participate in tree planting programs. These programs are administered by a variety of governmental and non-governmental agencies and designed to help offset deforestation in the area. We also donate $5 from every booking to Seed Balls Kenya, who work to reforest particularly hard-hit areas of the local environment. And, for the record, if you would like to join us in planting trees we can arrange that too.
For those of us at FlashMC Tours sustainability is more than just an empty marketing slogan, it’s a way of life. All of our actions are designed to reduce our carbon footprint, restore and revitalize the natural environment and benefit the wildlife and people of this region.
When developing our safari tours we rely on the guidance of numerous organizations, including Sustainable Tourism International, the Partnership for Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria and the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, among others.
We follow proven industry best practices when encountering wildlife and strive to leave only positive footprints in our wake. If you want to learn more about the principles underpinning our programs take one of our conservation Safaris in Africa, or feel free to download our complete Environmental Policy here. The drive winds through Kenya’s coffee country where the air is thick with incredible aromas emanating from the breathtaking landscape.
Once inside the park, you’ll have a chance to freshen up before visiting the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, established by Jane Goodall in 1993. After resting overnight in your luxury accommodations inside the park you will spend the next 2 days out in the bush with the wildlife. You’ll have a chance to see the Big 5 – lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos – as well as countless other species, so have your camera at the ready! You will also learn about the important efforts being undertaken to preserve the habitat for these animals and how your participation in responsible tourism helps. View Detailed Itinerary Here!
While much has been done to reverse the slide into extinction of the rhino and other species, poaching remains a huge problem throughout all of East Africa. In many cases, the only defence endangered animals have against the scourge of poaching and habitat encroachment is the conservation efforts of NGOs like the WWF and responsible tour companies like Africa Flash.
