Being the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro is an icon of these lands. Amboseli National Park butts up against the national park that hosts the mountain in Tanzania and is afforded stunning views because of it. Brief as this safari in Kenya may be, you will be able to photograph amazing animals with Kilimanjaro as your backdrop.

Amboseli is home to the big five of African safari, and with a pinch of luck along with expert guidance from your driver, you should be able to sight all of them. These lands are dry for much of the year, and lack vegetation meaning you get uninterrupted views over much of the landscape; perfect for viewing the animals you’re here to see.

Along with the big five of African safari, you will also have chance to see:

  • Zebras
  • Impalas
  • Masai giraffe
  • Cheetahs
  • Hyenas

With lots of other wildlife also calling the place home.

Being so close to Tanzania, it’s possible for you to request a transfer to Namanga border crossing rather than returning to Nairobi. This is the beauty of a private guide; you have control and your guide is there exclusively for you and your party’s comfort and well-being.

Included in your African safari tour is:

  • All transfers
  • All accommodation during the tour
  • All meals and drinking water during the tour
  • Flying Doctors medical, emergency, and rescue cover
  • All game drives as noted in the itinerary
  • Transport in a private safari minivan with an open roof

Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli National Park (250km – 4 to 5 hours)

An early start from Nairobi will see you collected from your hotel, residence, or the airport for 7.00am, ready to embark on the adventures that lay ahead. During the journey, you’ll pass by scenery filled with typical Kenyan life to give you some understanding of how life is lived each day.

Your arrival in the park will give you a quick game drive as you make your way to your chosen accommodation. Once you’ve arrived, lunch will be served and you’ll swiftly be swept away into the park for your first proper game drive. Kilimanjaro will always be somewhere in view as you range across the plains in search of the animals you’ve come all this way to see.

Once the sun has descended below the horizon, you’re going be able to have a leisurely evening with dinner back at your camp or lodge. Included in the first day of your Kenyan safari experience is:

  • Accommodation at your camp or lodge
  • Overnight stay inside Amboseli National Park
  • Lunch and dinner, no breakfast
  • Drinking water, other drinks are extra

Day 2 Amboseli National Park – Nairobi (250 km – 4 to 5 hours)

Start the day like a local; with a cup of Kenyan tea or coffee as you wake up before dawn. You morning will be spent on a game drive, listening to the dawn chorus or the awakening animals and watching as the sweet morning air inspires the creatures to start their day. The view of Kilimanjaro in the early morning is the stuff of legends, with it’s snow-capped peak cloudless so early in the day.

Once you’ve drank in all that a morning on the plains has to offer, you will be taken back to your camp or lodge for a hearty breakfast. Once sated and your bags are packed, it’s time to drive through the park one last time and head back to Nairobi.

You’ll be given a picnic style lunch during the journey and upon arrival in the city you can request that we drop you off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, depending on what plans you’ve made. Included in the last night of your safari in Kenya is:
