Featured Safari – Lewa and Masai Mara Fly in Safari
The only thing that equals seeing Kenya from ground level is seeing it from the air. With the Lewa and Masai Mara Fly-In Safari, you get the best of both worlds. On Day 1 you are picked up from your accommodations in Nairobi and driven to Wilson Airport where you will catch your 1-hour flight north to Lewa Airport. There you will be met by your guide who will take you through the Lewa Conservancy for game viewing on your way to Lewa Houses where you will be staying.
Hopefully, you’ll have your best camera with you because over the next 2 days you will get up close and personal with elephants, rare black rhinos, leopards, lions, Cape buffaloes, foxes, caracals, aardvarks, wild dogs, Grevy’s zebras, cheetahs, giraffes and more. And that’s just the beginning. Your accommodations will be airy, safe and exhibit restrained opulence, all your meals will be provided, your vehicles will be in top condition and your guide will give you and your party their unbroken attention.
On Day 3 you will return to Lewa Airport for a 1 1/2 hour flight to Masai Mara. After arriving you’ll embark on a game drive that will conclude around sunset, and after a relaxing night in your lodgings, you will head back out into the park. During your stay at Masai Mara, you will visit a Masai village where you can learn something about their history and culture and even participate in a traditional dance, if you wish.
When your time in Masai Mara is at an end there will be one more spectacular flight through the heart of the Great Rift Valley back to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. By itself, this flight would be an unforgettable experience. At the end of your Lewa and Masai Mara Fly-In Safari, it will simply be icing on the cake.
